Is it really local?
Yes. The color pipeline runs entirely on your machine: nothing uploads, nothing trains on your footage. On Mac even the AI analysis runs fully on-device; on Windows local AI needs an NVIDIA GPU, or you can bring your own cloud key.
What cameras and formats?
ProRes (including ARRI ALEXA ProRes), ProRes RAW, and BRAW on Mac, plus standard mp4/mov/mxf from Sony, Canon, Fujifilm, Panasonic, DJI, GoPro, Insta360, and iPhone. Sixteen log profiles are auto-detected. Native ARRIRAW and REDCODE R3D aren't supported yet.
What's free, exactly?

Does it replace my grade?
No. It does the correction a colorist does before the creative work: white balance, exposure, range, cross-camera match. The look on top is optional and adjustable, and everything is inspectable and reversible. Your creative grade stays yours.

Yes. The Basecut Grade OFX plugin applies your per-clip grades live on the Resolve color page (works in free Resolve), and with Resolve Studio, one click builds a full graded project: bins, timelines, grades applied. ALE and FCPXML exports cover any other NLE.
